December Fun!!!!

I cannot believe I only have 2 more weeks until winter break!!! Last week flew by. I have so many great ideas that I don't think I am going to get to this year. I was hoping to dedicate an entire week to the Gingerbread Man, but I may have to settle for a few days. I also want to read Polar Express and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Here are a few pictures of what we worked on this week.

I found these adorable stockings for free at Mrs. Ricca's Kindergarten. My kids "needed" a lot of things. Yes, one of them needed coffee!!! We talked about how coffee is a want (although sometimes I REALLY NEED it).

Last year, I bought this adorable checker game for under a dollar at Wal-Mart. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it at the time, I just HAD to have it. This year, I realized I could cut the board into ten frames and use the checker pieces as counters. I also added in a a die-cut Christmas tree. I think we will put the counters on the tree, roll the dice, and put the ornaments in the ten frame.

Finally, I have finished my 'Tis the Season unit, after a lot of computer error. It has 4 literacy centers and 7 math centers. I love how organized this unit is. I have included a Table of Contents, each center has an I Can Card with which Common Core Standard it addresses, and various recording sheets for 9 of the centers.

Because this unit is So BIG (108 pages!!!) I can only a show a snapshot of each center in my preview. I will post pics all week of this center in action. Since I was so later getting it up, this $9 unit will be on sale for $6 all week.  Click HERE or on the picture to buy it. Even better yet, you can win it free right now! Enter my Giveaway.

  1. I love the red/green checkers game you made into tens frames! I go to the local Dollar General every Sunday and scour the aisles for classroom treasures! I am going to be on the lookout for something like this this weekend! Thanks for sharing!

    1. I LOVE the dollar store, target dollar spot, and anywhere else that has cute things for a dollar. It makes teaching fun.
